Arthur Wentworth Keale
Arthur Wentworth Keale, of Waimea, passed away in Waimea on Feb. 1, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born on Dec. 26, 1941, in Puaiki, Ni‘ihau. He was a Golf Course Shaper.
He was preceded in death by father Josef Kupaianaha Kahale, Sr., mother Adeline Waioloe Kaleohana Kahale, brothers Moses K. Keale, Rev. Moses “Moke” Keale, Jr., Joseph Kahale, Jr., Arthur W. Kahale, sisters Rev. Adeline W. Rivera, Rev. Rose K. Kaliloa, Rebecca L. Keale and Josephine Keale.
He is survived by wife Dolores “Dorothy” Keale and son Kyle Wentworth H. Keale of Port Allen.
A service will be held on May 4, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by service at 9:45 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Annabel Bunao Ragasa
Annabel Bunao Ragasa, of Kapa‘a, passed away on April 4, 2024, in Washington State at the age of 59. She was born on Aug. 21, 1964, in Camiling, Tarlac, Philippines. Annabel was a Housekeeping Manager at Hanalei Bay Resort, Princeville for 38 years.
She was preceded in death by her father Fausto Bunao Jr., brothers Marcelino Bunao and Gregorio Bunao.
Annabel is survived by her mother Leonora Bunao, husband Eldegarde “Eldy” Ragasa, son Keith (Shawna) Ragasa, grandson Kiawe of Washington State, brother Leopoldo (Nellie) Bunao of Kapa‘a, sisters-in-law Cresencia Bunao of Kapa‘a, Digna Bunao of the Philippines, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a. Visitation will start at 8 a.m. with Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. The family would like to request casual attire. Flowers are welcome.

Rochelle Nora Paalua (Nishibata) San Agustin, of Kekaha, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. She was born on June 12,1945, in O‘ahu, Hawai‘i.
Rochelle was preceded in death by parents Masaichi, Nora (Akana), Louise (Holi) Nishibata, Charles P. and Elizabeth (Amina) Kaleikoa, Sr., brothers The Rev. Charles P. Kaleikoa, Jr., Wallace “Sonny” Koerte and sister Sylvia Koerte.
She is survived by husband Jose S. San Agustin of Kekaha, daughters Leilani, Leialoha “Loha” (Shandon Nordmeier) all of Kekaha, son Jose “Jr. Boy” and Shantell (Lau) of Waimea, six grandchildren Jelacia “Lacey” (Zachary “Zack” Kawai) Freitas-San Agustin, Kaycee (Chris Keh) San Agustin-Nordmeier, Bailey (Kevin Reyes) San Agustin-Nordmeier, Shandon “Kekai” San Agustin-Nordmeier, Kaimi “Imi” (Miiah Fu) Lau-San Agustin, Kaimalie “Kai Kai” San Agustin, six great-grandchildren Sophia “Sophie”, Ezekiel “Zeke”, Lucas “Luca”, Hilina‘i, Avery, Kahali‘a, sister Bernadette “Bernie” Kaleikoa (Michael) Page of Washington State, brother Gerald “Kaipo” Nishibata of Lihu‘e, nieces, nephews and hanai children.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at The Waimea Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, in Waimea, from 9 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Edwin. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe. The family suggests that casual attire be worn, and flowers are welcome.

Leonida Defuntorum Leones, 80, of Lihu‘e, passed away on April 19, 2024. She was born Aug. 24, 1943, in Manguzmana, Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines and worked at Host Marriott Restaurant for 23 years.
Preceded in death by her parents Eduardo and Esmerenciana Defuntorum, siblings Romualdo Defuntorum, Mateo Defuntorum, Eusequio Defuntorum, Felomino Defuntorum, Teresita D. Francisco and Hilaria D. Juliano.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Glenda Vierra, 82, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Lihu‘e. She was born on June 11, 1941. She was a baker.
She was preceded in death by parents Anthony Vierra and Angeline Souza-Hirano, son Adam Ronald Brun Jr., great-grandchild Ryker Brun, brother Kenny Vierra and sister Sybil Holt.
She is survived by son Robert Anthony Brun of Kalaheo, daughters Rhonda Ann Brun of Scottsdale, Arizona, Leona Mae Brun of North Dakota, Angela Rose Prigge of Kaumakani, 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother Marvin Vierra of North Carolina, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service is Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. with service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow.

Opal Healani Sui Len Trembath, 87, of Lihu‘e, peacefully passed surrounded by loved ones on March 29, 2024, in Lihu‘e. She was born on Oct. 17, 1936, in Huleia Valley. She retired as the Kupuna Program Director at Alu Like.
She was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Eva Ching, husband Charles Trembath, siblings Harold Ching, Clesson Ching, Lester Ching and Wilford Ching.
She is survived by children Debbie Lee-Jackson (George Jackson), Richard Lee (Michele Lee), Kristi Lee (Claurino Bueno), 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service is Saturday, May 4, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lihu‘e Ward Chapel. Viewing begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family requests that you wear purple attire.

Jonathan Hurd, of Hanapepe, passed away on March 29, 2024, on Kaua‘i at the age of 74. He was born on Sept. 22, 1949, in Glen Cove, New York. He was a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by wife Kathy Hurd of Hanapepe, son Gerald Hurd (Natalie) of Hanapepe, daughter Brook Bernardino (Audie) of Hanapepe, grandchildren Gianni Hurd, Gage Hurd, Gent Hurd, Gia Hurd, Evan Hurd, Mahealani Hurd, Ayden Bernardino, Maddox Bernardino, great-grandchildren Rylee Hurd, Jaeger Hurd, Haumana Kaleimamahu, Waiokalewa Kaleimamahu, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Teodulo “Teddy” Ganal Ganiron, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away on April 28, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born in Sarat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and worked at Lihu‘e Plantation and Kaua‘i Nursery.
He was preceded in passing by his parents Fermin and Laureta Ganiron, parents-in-law Fermin and Catalina Motilla and sister-in-law Mercedes Motilla.
Teddy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Pacita Ganiron, sons Ernest (Kimberly) Ganiron, Elmer (Sylvia) Ganiron, grandchildren Noah, Maison, Kaylyn, Owen, brothers Felix (Juliana) Ganiron, Jaime (Fresnaida) Ganiron, hanai sister Elena (Manuel) Respicio, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mervin Kaohi Sr., son Mervin Kaohi Jr., and parents William K. Goodwin and Margaret Kamai.
She is survived by son Galen (Andrea) Kaohi of Waimea, Kaua‘i, daughters Kawailana Mata of Waimea, Kaua‘i, Lamela (Rodney) Kahalepuna of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Vivian (Michael) Tamashiro of Mililani, O‘ahu, 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, brother Edward Taniguchi of Kalalea, Kaua‘i, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Saturday May 11, 2024, at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church in Hanapepe Town. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life. The family suggests that aloha and casual attire be worn, flowers and leis are welcomed.
