Annette Cha Cha Kaluahine passed away on April 13, 2024, in Lihu‘e at the age of 88. She was born on May 27, 1935, in Lihu‘e. She retired from First Hawaiian Bank.
She was preceded in death by parents Fred and Annie Perreira, in-laws Stanley and Nani Kaluahine Sr., husband Gordon Kaluahine Sr. and son Gordon Kaluahine Jr.
She is survived by daughters Gordean Kaluahine, Shantal Keala Kaluahine, sons Joel Kala (Rose) Kaluahine Sr., Fredstan (Bonnie) Kaluahine, Ty (Maxie) Kaluahine, Clyde (Desiree) Kaluahine, daughter-in-law Teri Kaluahine, 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m. and burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Lunch/Dinner to follow at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall from 2 to 8 p.m.

Aletha Kawelukawahinehololioolimaloa Goodwin Kaohi, of Waimea, Kaua‘i, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, at the age of 93 years old. She was born on June 19, 1930, in Waimea, Kaua‘i. She was a Hawaiian Cultural Advisor.
She was preceded in death by husband Mervin Kaohi Sr., son Mervin Kaohi Jr., parents William K. Goodwin and Margaret Kamai.
She is survived by son Galen (Andrea) Kaohi of Waimea, Kaua‘i, daughters Kawailana Mata of Waimea, Kaua‘i, Lamela (Rodney) Kahalepuna of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Vivian (Michael) Tamashiro of Mililani, O‘ahu, 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, brother Edward Taniguchi of Kalalea, Kaua‘i, numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church in Hanapepe Town. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 10 a.m. The family suggests that aloha and casual attire be worn, and flowers are welcome.

Rochelle Nora Paalua (Nishibata) San Agustin
Rochelle Nora Paalua (Nishibata) San Agustin, of Kekaha, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. She was born on June 12,1945, in O‘ahu, Hawai‘i.
Rochelle was preceded in death by parents Masaichi, Nora (Akana), Louise (Holi) Nishibata, Charles P. and Elizabeth (Amina) Kaleikoa, Sr., brothers The Rev. Charles P. Kaleikoa, Jr., Wallace “Sonny” Koerte and sister Sylvia Koerte.
She is survived by husband Jose S. San Agustin of Kekaha, daughters Leilani, Leialoha “Loha” (Shandon Nordmeier) all of Kekaha, son Jose “Jr. Boy” and Shantell (Lau) of Waimea, six grandchildren Jelacia “Lacey” (Zachary “Zack” Kawai) Freitas-San Agustin, Kaycee (Chris Keh) San Agustin-Nordmeier, Bailey (Kevin Reyes) San Agustin-Nordmeier, Shandon “Kekai” San Agustin-Nordmeier, Kaimi “Imi”. (Miiah Fu) Lau-San Agustin, Kaimalie “Kai Kai” San Agustin, six great-grandchildren Sophia “Sophie”, Ezekiel “Zeke”, Lucas “Luca”, Hilina‘i, Avery, Kahali‘a, sister Bernadette “Bernie” Kaleikoa (Michael) Page of Washington State, brother Gerald “Kaipo” Nishibata of Lihu‘e, nieces, nephews and hanai children.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at The Waimea Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, in Waimea, from 9 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Edwin. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe.
The family suggests that casual attire be worn, and flowers are welcome.

Matthew James Ornellas Jr.
Matthew James Ornellas Jr., 33, of Kapa‘a, passed away on March 25, 2024, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 29, 1990, and was loved by many. He graduated from Kapa‘a High School and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Frank and Emily Barretto Sr., paternal grandparents Joseph and Dorothy Ornellas Jr.
He is survived by parents Sharleen (Jon) Ornellas and Matthew Jimmy (Liz) Ornellas Sr., sisters Jamilynn (Pat) Ornellas, Jaslynn Ornellas, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. All whom Matt loved dearly.
A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at a later date.
