LIHUE — A wealth of roadwork is on tap in the coming days with projects ranging from Waimea Canyon Road to Hanalei Plantation Road, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in a weekly update on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending April 26. All work is weather permitting.
Hanapepe
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass trimming and shoulder grading, between Lele Road and Kaumakani Road, on Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for survey work, between mile post 10.73 and 11.06, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, starting on Sunday, April 21, through Friday, April 26, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for grass cutting and shoulder grading, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway, on Monday, April 22, through Friday, April. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalihiwai
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for highway reconstruction, between Kahiliholo Road and Ka Haku Road, on Sunday, April 21, through Friday, April 26, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kapaia
A right lane closure on Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) is possible in either direction for tree trimming, between mile post 0 and 3.9, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway, on Saturday, April 20, from 7 a.m.to 3:30 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Sunday, April 21, through Friday, April 26, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kilauea
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting along guardrails and banks, between mile post 23 and 25, in the vicinity of Kuawa Road, on Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Koke‘e
A right lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in the eastbound direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 3.3 and 9.7, on Monday, April 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for road widening and paving, between mile post 11.5 and 14, on Sunday, April 21, through Friday, April 26, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Koloa
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for survey, between mile post 5.95 and 6.97 in the vicinity of Weoweopilau Stream Bridge and Maluhia Road, beginning Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lawai
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the westbound direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 10 and 14.1, in the vicinity of Akemama Road, beginning Wednesday, April 24, through Friday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Pakala
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the westbound direction for guardrail repair, between mile post 20.9 and 24.5 in the vicinity of Kekaha Road, on Tuesday, April 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
Wailua
A full closure is possible on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) at the Wailua mauka bridge for bridge repair work, on Sunday, April 21, through Friday, April 26, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.. The makai bridge will allow for one lane of traffic in both directions.
A right lane closure on Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) is possible in either direction for grass cutting and shoulder grading, between mile post 1.91 to 2.64, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway and Olohena Road, on Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout for slope stabilization and waterline installation, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice. Two-way traffic is controlled by flaggers or temporary traffic signals.
