Danilo P. Sanchez
Danilo P. Sanchez, 71, of Kapa‘a, passed away at home on April 10, 2024. He was born April 25, 1952, in Ligao, Albay, Philippines and retired as a heavy equipment mechanic.
Preceded in death by his parents Cecilio and Natividad Sanchez, siblings Ruben Sanchez, Adelfa Delos Santos and Lydio Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife Josephine G. Sanchez, sons Daniel (Gabby) Sanchez, Christian (Keala) Parado, Danilo (Meann) Sanchez Jr., Dexter (Wenda) Sanchez, daughter Daphne (Mateo) Halverson, nine grandchildren, brothers Ador, Celso, Serafin, Domingo, sisters Terry, Fely, Bernardita, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jonathan Hurd
Jonathan Hurd, of Hanapepe, passed away on March 29, 2024, on Kaua‘i at the age of 74. He was born on Sept. 22, 1949, in Glen Cove, New York. He was a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by wife Kathy Hurd of Hanapepe, son Gerald Hurd (Natalie) of Hanapepe, daughter Brook Bernardino (Audie) of Hanapepe, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Arthur Wentworth Keale
Arthur Wentworth Keale, of Waimea, passed away in Waimea on Feb. 1, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born on Dec. 26, 1941, in Puaiki, Ni‘ihau. He was a Golf Course Shaper.
He was preceded in death by father Josef Kupaianaha Kahale, Sr., mother Adeline Waioloe Kaleohana Kahale, brothers Moses K. Keale, Rev. Moses “Moke” Keale, Jr., Joseph Kahale, Jr., Arthur W. Kahale, sisters Rev. Adeline W. Rivera, Rev. Rose K. Kaliloa, Rebecca L. Keale and Josephine Keale.
He is survived by wife Dolores “Dorothy” Keale and son Kyle Wentworth H. Keale of Port Allen.
A service will be held on May 4, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. followed by service at 9:45 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Elden Layne Nakashima
Elden Layne Nakashima, age 68, passed away on Feb. 14, 2024, at Straub Hospital on O‘ahu. He was born on Oct. 19, 1955.
He was preceded in death by father Hitoshi Nakashima and mother Hazel Nakashima.
Elden is survived by brothers Dennis Nakashima of Kapa‘a, Gerald (Amy) Nakashima of O‘ahu, sister Jorene (Guy) Solusod of Lihu‘e, numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on May 11, 2024, at Lihu‘e Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m.
The family requests no flowers and casual attire.
