LIHU‘E — A wealth of road-related projects are on tap at the start of the spring season with work stretching from the west end of the island to the north side, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update on Friday.
The following is a list of scheduled projects for the workweek ending April 5. All work is weather permitting.
Anahola
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 16.5 to 18, in the vicinity of Ko‘olau Road on Monday, April 1, through Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
‘Ele‘ele
A single lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for construction of fire breaks, between mile post 3 and 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway, on Monday, April 1 through Friday, April. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hanamaulu
A roving right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for street sweeping, between Kapule Highway and the vicinity of Wana Road, on Monday, April 1, through Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hanapepe
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading, between mile post 16.9 and 18.5 in the vicinity of Lele Road on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder work and paving, between mile post 10.7 and 11, in the vicinity of Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, through Friday, April 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow). Use of alternate routes is recommended.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, in the vicinity of Halewili Road, on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, through Friday, April 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Nawilliwili
A lane shift on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) is possible in the northbound direction for tree trimming, between Niumalu Road and Lala Road, on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, March 25 through Friday, March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
Puhi
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for excavation of existing asphalt, installation of base material and asphalt paving, between mile post 2.1 and 2.7, through Friday, March. 29, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for asphalt paving, between mile post 2.1 and 2.7, through Friday, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Travel in both directions will be maintained through alternating traffic control (contraflow).
Wailua
A two lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible northbound for cold planing and paving, between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass Road on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 1 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Melia Street, on Monday, April 1, through Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout until further notice for slope stabiliaztion, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Two-way traffic is controlled by flaggers or temporary traffic signals.
Waimea
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the eastbound direction for eradication and restriping, between mile post 23 and 23 in the vicinity of Waimea Canyon Drive on Thursday, April 4, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
