KAPA‘A — The Garden Island Federal Credit Union (GIFCU) celebrated the grand opening of its Kapa‘a Branch on Friday in the Kapa‘a Shopping Center.
The Kapa‘a Branch joins the GIFCU family by offering banking services more convenient for people in Kapa‘a and the eastside. The opening is the third GIFCU center, joining the main office in Lihu‘e and the branch in Koloa.
Attractive grand opening specials like a $300 bonus for a new checking account, and free Filipino food that included pancit, pork skewers, vegetable lumpia and rice for the first 100 people from the kitchens of Francis and Geraldine Baniaga of Mom’s Filipino Comfort Food.
The activity was enhanced by the on-site live broadcast by The Pacific Media Group drawing even more people to the balloon scuptures created by Unica Jose of Crafty Mommy Kaua‘i.
More prizes and giveaways flowed through the parking area fronting the new branch that was visited by fellow credit union managers Karen and Taylor Shigemoto of the Hawai‘iUSA Federal Credit Union, who brought floral congratulations for the new branch that is open on Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The branch is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
