Kaua‘i first responders, including the Kaua‘i Police Department, Kaua‘i Fire Department and American Medical Response, clear the scene of a traffic mishap on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, that took place about 9:30 a.m. on the Veterans Memorial Highway, just makai of the Ka‘ana Street stoplight. AMR had already transported the victim, the driver of the Mazda to the hospital for further treatment. North bound traffic was redirected onto the highway shoulder. According to KPD reports, at approximately 9:20 a.m., a silver Mazda sedan rearended a white Toyota Tacoma at the stoplight at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Highway and Ka‘ana Street. The driver of the Mazda, a 45-year-old female, was transported to the Wilcox Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released. The driver of the Toyota, a 38-year-old male, did not sustain any injuries. Traffic was not impeded.

Thursday was Eltinge’s second appearance at the market that will celebrate its third anniversary in April.

There are only two Thursdays remaining to take in the National Tropical Botanical Garden Florilegium exhibit at the NTBG Botanical Laboratory in Kalaheo … the ‘ohi‘a (NTBG in partnership with the Kaua‘i Invasive Species Committee is giving away ‘ohi‘a seedlings as part of its Grow Aloha program on April 20) was not cooperating.
