LIHU‘E — A helicopter will drop at least 10,000 Easter eggs on Saturday at the Vidinha Stadium soccer fields, as Hope Collective Church brings fun, love and hope to adults and keiki to the entire island of Kaua‘i during the Easter season.
Everyone is invited to gather — parking will be at the Vidinha Stadium parking lot — from 9 a.m. with the helicopter dropping the eggs from 9:30 a.m., weather permitting.
The National Weather System is forecasting breezy conditions with gusts up to 22 mph with showers likely before noon, then moving to isolated showers conditions for Saturday morning, so egg hunters are encouraged to dress accordingly.
“This weekend is designed for our Kaua‘i community,” said Hope Collective Church (HC) Lead Pastor John Cabello. “We just want people to come and have a great time with their family and friends.”
HC promises a day of free food, music, prizes and the huge helicopter egg drop.
Hope Collective keeps the celebration going next weekend with a Good Friday Service on March 29 at 6 p.m. and two Easter Sunday services. The first service at the Hope Collective building in the Rice Shopping Center starts at 8 a.m. and the second service starts at 9:30 a.m.
Cabello’s vision is to spread love, hope and acceptance to Kaua‘i. The Easter events are made possible through the efforts of numerous volunteers.
