No, there were no Leap Year babies at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, but the Future Farmers of America state convention (Daniel Hamada said these delegates are too young to know about corduroy even if they were looking smart in those blue jackets) was in full swing with their Career Development path that followed a day of working on the farms at both Kaua‘i High School (do you realize that’s the only FFA chapter we have on Kaua‘i?) and Kapa‘a High School, where the delegates from Mililani High School were admiring the aquaponics set up.

Kudos to our Kaua‘i Complex Area people, Christina Martiney of the Kaua‘i High School FFA Chapter, and all the support crew on hosting the more than 200 students from across the state to our little island home (where did they find those “Cougar Kalo” in Kapa‘a?).
OK, it’s Read Across America time … gotta go check out the celebrity readers and what’s coming up for the Agriculture Week Celebration with the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau (they were one of the helpers with the FFA state convention).
Happy girls day, Kaua‘i!
