LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation on Friday released the 2024 KIF Swimming All-Stars, which included the Central Pacific Bank KIF champions, the Kaua‘i High School boys, and the Island School girls.
Individual swimmer awards include Chloe Inouye of Island School, Brandon Lin of Kaua‘i High School and Talen Koerte of Kaua‘i High School — all of whom advanced to medalist rounds during the recent state meet on Maui.
Kaua‘i High School girls, whose efforts throughout the KIF swim season were overshadowed by the dominating Island School girls’ performances, was acknowledged by being named to the 400 freestyle relay team.
Kapa‘a High School boys, whose efforts throughout the season were overshadowed by the strong showing of the Red Raiders, also got the nod to the 400 freestyle relay team.
The KIF also expressed its appreciation and thanks to all of the volunteers who turned out on every weekend in January to support the high school swimmers.
Of note, special thanks went out to the YMCA of Kaua‘i, Shannon Wigent, Carrie Hovland, Deborah Christian, John Inouye, James and Leslie Lin, Joy Koerte, Dustin Moises, Mandy Gordines and Makenzie Nii.
