LIHU‘E — A number of road-related projects are scheduled on the island of Kaua‘i with work stretching from Waimea to Princeville, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update.
The following is a list of projects for the workweek ending Feb. 2. All work is weather permitting.
Anahola
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for construction of a fire break between Kinohi Road and Aliomanu Road, on Monday, Jan. 29, through Friday, Feb. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for storm drain installation and paving between Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, nightly beginning on Sunday, Jan. 28, through Friday, Feb. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting between mile post 12 and 15 in the vicinity of Laulea Street, on Monday, Jan. 29, through Friday, Feb. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kapa‘a
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for weed control between mile post 9 to 26, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road and Princeville Airport, on Monday, Jan. 29, through Thursday, Feb. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road through Friday, Feb. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kilauea
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for tree trimming between mile marker 23 and 26, in the vicinity of Wailapa Road and Princeville Airport, on Monday, Jan. 29, through Friday, Feb. 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Lihu‘e
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway through Friday, Feb. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for restriping between North Leho Drive and Kuamo‘o Road, on Sunday, Jan. 28, through Friday, Feb. 2, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Lumahai
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in the southbound direction for grass cutting between mile post 5 and 6, from Monday, Jan. 29, through Thursday, Feb. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material between Hanalei Plantation Road and Hanalei Bridge, from Monday, Jan. 29, through Friday, Feb. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
A full closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in both directions for Hanalei Bridge deck replacement between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, nightly through Friday, Feb. 2 from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Wailua
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible for slope stabilization work in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice.
Waimea
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for road repair between mile post 24 and 25 in the vicinity of Akepa Road, on Thursday night, Feb. 1, through the morning of Friday, Feb. 2, from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
