Rossiter Ronald Kamealoha Oana, Sr.
Rossiter Ronald Kamealoha Oana, Sr., of Kalaheo, passed away on Jan. 4, 2024, in Kalaheo at the age of 84. He was born on Jan. 23, 1939, in Lihu‘e. He was a telephone linesman with Hawaiian Tel Company and a long-time musician with the Punuas.
He was preceded in death by parents Stanley Manaia Oana, Sr., Elizabeth Leialoha Kanoho Oana, wife Marjorie Napua Rodrigues Oana, son Rosswell Raoul Kaleolani Oana, granddaughter Weslyn Jerves, grandson Don Sadomiano, brother Stanley Manaia (Smokey) Oana, Jr., sisters Eleanor Leinaala Carvalho, Flora Ornellas and son-in-law Wesley Jerves.
He is survived by wife Victoria Navarro Oana, sons Rossiter R. K. Oana, Jr. of Oma‘o, Michael Oana of Vancouver, Washington, Chris Oana of Vancouver, Washington, daughters Raenette (Danny) Sadomiano of Hanama‘ulu, Rhonda Jerves of Hanama‘ulu, Rona (Reuben Yadao) Oana of ‘Ele‘ele, Romy Oana of ‘Ele‘ele, stepdaughters Nani (Matthew) Burger of Oregon, Angelina Kays of Kalaheo, grandchildren Reef Oana, Chantel Lopez, Aaron (Toya) Oana, Mahealani Oana, Channel (Kalani Matsusaka) Jerves, Jewel Jerves, Ashlyn Jerves, Garon (Danielle Kulia) Nobriga, Ryden Nobriga, Ariel Overton, Hailey Oana, Mason Oana, Keoni Sadomiano, Gavin Sadomiano, Raschel Yadao, Shalea (Nicholas) Kam, Taralei (Dillion Kane) Yadao, great-grandchildren Kichelle Oana, Taylin Oana, Tydin Oana, Zion Oana, Chay Ramirez, Tawehi Oana Makanani, Ceriann Jerves, Rize Papagayo, Janai Thompson, Tori Santiago, Wesley Kamu Santiago, Myah Matsusaka, Aiyana Matsusaka, Sariah Matsusaka, Kalani boy Matsusaka, Zaylin Matsusaka, Anela Yadao, Aiden Catbagan-Texeira, Kieran Shigeo Kam, Salem Kam, Ezekiel Kane, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at Lihue Lutheran Church on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. Visitation is from 8 to 9 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 9 a.m. The family requests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.

Jessica ‘Jessie’ Louise Coyamin
Jessica “Jessie” Louise Coyamin, of Lihu‘e, passed away on Jan. 5, 2024, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 64. She was born on Jan. 25, 1959, in Lihu‘e. She was employed at Puakea Golf Course as a grounds-keeper and worked part-time for various rent-a-car companies before the pandemic.
Jessie was an awesome person who loved to roll dice with friends and spending time with her family and friends on special occasions. She will be sadly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by mother Francisca “Frances” Agao Rapozo and nephew Lenson William Coyamin Perez.
She is survived by her father Rosario “Ross” Coyamin, step-father Donald Rapozo Sr., siblings Russell (Pamela) Coyamin Sr., Rebecca “Becky” (Ricky Imada) Coyamin, Donald (Danielle Pelletier) Rapozo Jr., children Shayleen (Roderick Bagaoisan) Louis-Coyamin, Jennifer (Albert Maghanoy, Jr.) Louis, Melissa (John Krause) Louis, Reuben Louis, 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, hanai-sisters Ulu Urwiler, Janell Efhan, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at Kalapaki Park down Nawiliwili on Sunday, Feb. 18, starting at 10 a.m. Please bring memories, your personal chairs, and BYOB.

Colette A. Buis, age 86, of Lihu‘e, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at her home (surrounded by her loving family).
Preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Buis, parents Frank and Berenice Bocian, siblings Dolores Lapota, Gerald Bocian, and Beranadine Bocian.
She is survived by her children William (Rebecca) Allen, Kathleen Allen Hays, Laura (Brien) Roos, her sister Alice Stake, 14 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Services will be held Jan. 21, 2 p.m., St. Michaels and All Angels Church in Lihu‘e followed by a reception at the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her honor to St. Michaels and All Angels Church or Kaua‘i Hospice.

Daniel Keolamana Ka‘aumoana
Daniel Keolamana Ka‘aumoana, of Kekaha, passed away on Dec. 28, 2023, at the age of 15. He was born on Sept. 16, 2008, in Waimea, Kaua‘i. He was a student at Waimea High School.
He was preceded in death by his grandma Merla-Ann Ka‘aumoana.
He is survived by his father David (Deanna) Manu Ka‘aumoana of Waimea, mother Tiffany “Ulu” (Wesley) Schmidt of Kekaha, brothers David Moses Ka‘aumoana of Waimea, Kupa‘a Silva of Kekaha, Kawelo Silva of Kekaha, sisters Angel Ka‘aumoana of Waimea, Ka‘ena Silva of Kekaha, Kailea Alquiza of Waimea, Kilileo Alquiza of Waimea, Kahiau Ka‘aumoana of Waimea, grandparents Keala Niheu of Kekaha, Leon (Momi) Schmidt of Kaumakani, great-grandmother Kaleimomi Schmidt, uncles Joshua Ka’aumoana of O‘ahu, Hoku Schmidt of Kekaha, aunts Sarah (Nick) Ka‘aumoana of Kalaheo, Nicole (Kainalu) Ka‘aumoana of Waimea, Keala (Neill) Manuma of Kekaha, Kanani (Benjamin) Apilado of Kaumakani and numerous cousins.

Elizabeth Kuualoha Redongo, of Koloa, passed away on Jan. 16, 2024, at Hospice Maui Hale, at the age of 80. She was born on April 8, 1943, on O‘ahu. She was previously employed with Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary and Garden Island Mortuary.
She was preceded in death by husband Lawrence “Sonny” Redongo.
She is survived by son John “Otto” (Angie Federici) Redongo, daughters Lori Lee Redongo, Leah Ann Redongo, Laura Ann (Anthony) Kaahanui, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa on Friday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 3, at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery.

Janet Pualani Kali Ortiz, of Hanapepe, passed away on Jan. 19, 2024, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, at the age of 85. She was born on June 4, 1938. She was a retired custodian at ‘Ele‘ele Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by husband Lucas Ortiz, son Stanley Ortiz, parents Robert and Lei Kali, brothers and sisters, John Ham-Young, Lei Niau, Abraham Ham-Young, Joseph Ham-Young, Richard Ham-Young, Clara Kali, Winnie Kali, Benjamin Kali and Rebecca Kali.
She is survived by her sons Randall (Krissy) Ortiz of Kalaheo, Charles (Nieva) Ortiz of Hanapepe, grandchildren Ranasha Kanahele, Ola Kanahele, Charlyn Ortiz, Kelsey Ortiz, Kiani Ortiz, great-grandchildren Chaslin Ortiz, Keane Miyamoto-Hosaka, brother Robert Ortiz of Hilo, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kalaheo Ward. Visitation is from 9 to 10:45 a.m. followed by services from 11 a.m. to noon. The family requests aloha attire.

Aurora Gudoy Planas passed away on Dec. 20, 2023, in Lihu‘e at the age of 65. She was born on Aug. 28, 1958, in the Philippines. She was a housekeeper at The Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa and The Point at Po‘ipu.
She was preceded in death by parents Anastacio Gudoy, Conception Valdez, husband Gregorio Planas and brother Juanito Gudoy.
She is survived by daughters Analisa (Kendall) Oshiro, Maybeline (Albert) Parbo, sisters Lourdes Planas, Maria Gudoy, Fely (Wayne) Noda, Lydia Mamaclay, Gloria (Vic) Soria, brothers Wilson (Lydia) Gudoy, Sam (Shirley) Gudoy, Artemio (Gening) Gudoy, Arsenio (Elizabeth) Gudoy and five grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Visitation begins at 8 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., and burial will follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.
