Mahalo, Brian (and the missus!) Atendido for “discovering” the Nonaka Farm Half Moon (yep, it’s available in apple and coconut — Ernie Domingo should’ve been at Grove Farm Market on Saturday … oh yeah, he was at the opening of the Kaua‘i Senior Softball league). Coach Dean was probably at the kupuna softball opening, too, but Coach Kell (he’s also excited about the opening of University of Hawai‘i men’s volleyball — are they going to play a game on Kaua‘i?) was able to juggle his schedule to help Nikol. In-person is always better than just the gingerbread men cookies he had for Christmas.

Kudos, Lenny Rapozo for doing that nice remembrance piece on Coach Peter Rayno Jr. before the tip-off of the varsity boys basketball game … another reason for the KIF basketball officials to wear the “PR” patch on their uniforms … what would Coach Peter be saying about that new Kaua‘i High School gymnasium where Principal Marlene Leary was really focused on finding all the bugs, and good job security team on making sure people are reminded about the no food, no drink (water is OK) inside the gym policy. This is just a reminder to appreciate people while they’re here to be appreciated … nice to see (and talk to) all those famous coaches during the Clem Gomes Gym and Bernice Hundley Gym contests!
OK, time to get ready for the National Weather Service expected rains (county issued a Flash Flood watch from Sunday evening) for Monday and Tuesday! Stay dry and stay safe!
