Elizabeth Freeman, of the Festival of Lights, wants to remind everyone that Santa and Mrs. Claus “loves to chat with keiki” on Friday (one more Friday — Dec. 22 — before Christmas!) evenings from 6 p.m. at the historic County Building lights displays. Elizabeth said they even have a Photo Elf who can take free photos using the visiting family’s cellphone.

Also free is the “Royal Holiday” festive light displays of Ka Mala O Kalapaki garden that was put together through the collaborative efforts of six community partners, including Wilcox Health who just recently announced easier access to Urgent Care, the Boys &Girls Club of Hawai‘i, the Kaua‘i Museum, the county’s Employee Council, and the Kaua‘i Community College Cognitions Learning Program.
The Royal Sonesta said Saturday (there’s only two more Saturday before Christmas) experiences are enhanced with a visit from Santa, and free hot chocolate.
And, while waiting on the Waimea Twilight parade on Saturday, the Friends of the Waimea Public Library invite everyone to visit their craft fair from 2 to 6:30 p.m. (the parade is supposed to start, then) where the Friends partner with Lightshadow Crystals to present 10 vendors in the library’s meeting room selling their respective creations for holiday gift giving.
