LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative’s (KIUC) Nominating Committee recently confirmed four candidates for its board of directors election on March 16, 2024.
LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative’s (KIUC) Nominating Committee recently confirmed four candidates for its board of directors election on March 16, 2024.
The confirmed nominee candidates are David Iha, Janet Kass, Teofilo Phil Tacbian and Mike Yamane.
KIUC holds an election each year to fill three of nine director positions, which carry a three-year term of office. The directors elected in the March 2024 election will hold terms that expire in 2027.
KIUC members may also run for the cooperative’s board by submitting a completed petition form that includes the name, service address, phone and/or account number, and the signature of at least 35 members.
Potential petition candidates must also fill out the KIUC Board Policy 18 and attend a board orientation.
The petition form, Board Policy 18 and KIUC election information can be found at www.kiuc.coop/election.
Completed forms and Board Policy 18 may be scanned and emailed to info@kiuc.coop or hard copy submissions can be left in the night depository at the KIUC office at 4463 Pahe‘e St. in Lihu‘e.
The deadline for these submissions is no later than 4 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2024.
