LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i High School boys air rifle team claimed the Central Pacific Bank Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation championship along with the Waimea High School girls air rifle team following the 2023 KIF Air Rifle season.
LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i High School boys air rifle team claimed the Central Pacific Bank Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation championship along with the Waimea High School girls air rifle team following the 2023 KIF Air Rifle season.
The honor also extended to the teams being named to the KIF All-Stars listing.
Making the KIF boys list are Jacob Andres of Kaua‘i, Andrew Sadamitsu of Kaua‘i, Brayden Bartholomew of Kaua‘i, Trey Nakamura of Kaua‘i and two Waimea High School boys — Rhomsen Fermin and Ferdy Padamada.
Four Waimea High School girls, Lee Ann Saniatan, Zoey Ruiz, Rochelle Uri and Trislyn Calixterio-Martinez are joined by two Kaua‘i High School girls — Sharba Holi and Caylee Garma — to make up the Girls KIF Air Rifle All-Stars.
During the recent Hawai‘i Army National Guard Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association air riflery championships, which were contested on O‘ahu, the Kaua‘i High School boys team, including Sadamitsu, Andres, Bartholomew and Nakamura, finished in third place overall. The boys were led by Sadamitsu’s high of 524 points.
The Waimea High School girls team, including Ruiz, Uri, Saniatan and Calixterio-Martinez, finished the state competition in sixth place. The girls were led by Ruiz’s high-point 527 points.
