LIHU‘E — A number of road improvement projects are scheduled to take place this week with the biggest on Hulemalu Road in Nawiliwili, where road repaving is on tap through the penultimate week of November, according to the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation and County of Kaua‘i Department of Public Works.
The following is a list of roadwork for the workweek ending Nov. 10. All roadwork is weather permitting.
‘Ele‘ele
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for grass trimming in either direction between mile post 15.3 and 19, in the vicinity of Laulea Street and Kaumakani Avenue on Monday, Nov. 6, through Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kalaheo
A right side lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible for grass trimming in either direction between mile post .01 and 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway on Monday, Nov. 6, through Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kealia
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for clearing of guardrails and signs in either direction, between mile post 11 and 13.5 in the vicinity of Kapolil Street and Kukuihale Road, on Monday, Nov. 6, through Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kilauea
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for cleaning of guardrails, banks and signs in either direction between Kalamania Road and Kalihiwai Road on Monday, Nov. 6, through Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Nawiliwili
Lane closures are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays through Nov. 24 for road resurfacing work along Hulemalu Road. Temporary full road closure will be necessary for portions of the work.
Oma‘o
A right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible for shoulder clearing in either direction between Oma‘o Road and Koloa Road on Monday, Nov. 6, through Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for vegetation and tree trimming in either direction between mile post Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, Nov. 6, and Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
