Rose Villanueva Elder
Rose Villanueva Elder passed away on Oct. 24, 2023, in Kapa‘a, at the age of 92. She was born on April 5, 1931, in Hawai‘i. She was a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by mother Josephine Villanueva, father Jose Bernal Alviar, brothers Justino Cerenio, James Alviar, sisters Trinidad Dumlao, Concita Travis, Helen Callous, daughter Rose Marie Gorospe and son Theodoro Gorospe Jr.
She is survived by sister Juanita Chandler, sons Richard Dale Gorospe, Conrado (Cora) Gorospe, James (Sue) Macasio, Steven Elder Jr., Scott (Cindy) Elder, daughters Adaline (Howard) Toki, Leonora (Michael) Ornellas, Nadeen Aliviado, Norine (John) Goas, Denise (Eddie) Alamillo, 28 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and service to follow at 10 a.m.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
