Bruce Alexander Kali
Bruce Alexander Kali, of Lawa‘i, passed away on Oct. 12, 2023, at the age of 55. He was born on Jan. 12, 1968, in Waimea, Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by son Kaipo Kaiama Kali, father Placido Jose, mother Lorriane Kali and uncle Chuck Komaki.
He is survived by wife Cathy Saronitman Kali of Lawa‘i, sons Kekoa (Marissa Chun) Kali of Koloa, Kainoa (Lana Lazaro) Kali of Kekaha, brother Chris (Sayan Munmai) Kali of Saipan, CNMI, daughter Ku‘uipo (Kurtis Balai) Kali of Koloa, 13 grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Fortunato L. Barroga
Fortunato L. Barroga passed away on Oct. 8, 2023, in Lihu‘e, at the age of 100. He was born on Oct. 14, 1922, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He was a laborer at Dole Pineapple Plantation.
He was preceded in death by wife Petra Raza Barroga, parents Vicente and Nieves Barroga.
He is survived by daughters Perlita Medrano, Armida (Edward) Valencia, sons Henry (Cathy) Barroga, Catalino (Ella) Barroga, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date on Lanai.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
