“Fashionistas (that’s another Edie Ignacio Neumiller term)” Edie and MJ Akuna, of the YWCA of Kaua‘i, were discussing pink (did you see the new Waimea girls volleyball pink for Maui shirts?) and purple representing Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Prevention Awareness Month?

What about fire prevention where Kaua‘i Fire Dept. Prevention Capt. Justin Kaeo Kinoshita is launching the department’s inaugural launch of Fire Prevention Week on Saturday at the Kaua‘i Philippine Cultural Center with fire trucks and Sparky, who can pose for photos from 9 a.m. (gotta go early in order to make it out to Kekaha for the Fall Festival (they’re celebrating 10 years of pumpkin and fun) and the free pumpkin giveaway (they’re having free pumpkins at the Kaua‘i Chocolate &Coffee Festival on Oct. 15, too).
The Kekaha Neighborhood Center park gateway opens from 11 a.m., which gives ample time before heading to the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation (mahalo, Central Pacific Bank for becoming a title sponsor of KIF championship events!) football game that kicks off starting at noon at the Hanapepe Stadium for the Junior Varsity.
Anything exciting happening on Sunday besides Christian Marston celebrating the 20th anniversary of Mama’s Celebration of Life at the Tahiti Nui?
