LIHU‘E — Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics, coaches and 14 of its swimmers earned congratulatory certificates from the Kaua‘i County Council for outstanding and sometimes record-breaking achievements at the 2023 Hawaiian Swimming Long Course Age Group State Championship Meet held in Kihei, Maui, from July 14-17.
LIHU‘E — Swim Kaua‘i Aquatics, coaches and 14 of its swimmers earned congratulatory certificates from the Kaua‘i County Council for outstanding and sometimes record-breaking achievements at the 2023 Hawaiian Swimming Long Course Age Group State Championship Meet held in Kihei, Maui, from July 14-17.
Due to the early start time of the council meeting conflicting with school hours, the certificates were accepted by SKA coaches Curt Colby and Brad Meacham representing the cadre of coaches.
The Boys Relay Team — Ryder Lin, Max Mottley, Sean Lotermoser and Kai Paterson — which earned state championship honor in their event, were joined by Brandon Lin, a two-time record breaker, Griffin Lin, Addy Mottley and Talen Koerte.
During the meet, SKA swimmers excelled both individually, and as a team, by taking home top honors and breaking state records to finish sixth overall in a field of 20 teams.
SKA coaches getting applauded included Colby, Meacham, Jenna Budke, Heather Couchman, Chris Mottley and Kailee Mu.
SKA swimmers participating in the state meet included Hannah Hovland, Liam Juvan, Peyton Koerte, Talen Koerte, Brandon Lin, Griffin lin, Ryder Lin, Sean Lottermoser, Shealee Moises, Addy Mottley, Max Mottley, Kai Paterson, Jayna Sams and Kohlton Sanchez.
