PRINCEVILLE — Participants in the ‘Ohana Fit Fest Obstacle Fun Run/Walk still have time for an opportunity to earn a sunset tour for two at the Makai Golf Club by registering for the event presented by the Kaua‘i North Shore Community Foundation by Sept. 22.
Registration can be done online at OhanaFitFest.com, or at KNSCF.org.
“This is the 10th anniversary for ‘Ohana Fit Fest,” said Ken Rosenthal of the KNSCF. “This year’s proceeds will benefit our keiki. Grants will be donated to North Shore schools to help fund fitness programs and equipment.”
The ‘Ohana Fit Fest Obstacle Fun Run/Wall will take place on Sept. 30 starting with registration at 6:30 a.m. A community fair opens from 7 a.m. at the Prince Albert Park before the obstacle course opens from 8:30 a.m. with staggered starts for runners and walkers.
“The 5K-ish route starts at Prince Albert Park in Princeville, winds along the Princeville path and stunning ocean view holes of the Makai Golf Club, into the Mauka, or Woods Course where runners and walkers will climb, crawl, and test their coordination on obstacles before finishing back at the Prince Albert Park,” Rosenthal said.
“A new facet for this year’s event — the 10th anniversary — are team awards for the fastest team, team with the most spirit and largest team.”
Event package pickup is from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Pre Race Happy Hour at the Makai Grill located at the Princeville Makai Golf Club.
The 10th ‘Ohana Fit Fest is a partnership effort between the Kaua‘i North Shore Community Foundation, the Princeville at Hanalei Community Association, the Princeville Makai Golf Club, and iHeartPrinceville.com.
