Where is that visitor who was looking for coffee (not the brewed kine being offered by Terry Gordines at the Grove Farm Market in Puhi on Saturday) to bring home?
Just down the road, Thunder Chicken (available either whole bean or ground) has been supporting Kaua‘i robotics for years, and was available at the Robotics Expo presented by the Kaua‘i Robotics Alliance at the Kaua‘i Philippines Cultural Center in Puhi (they’re presenting the annual Labor Day golf tournament on Sept. 4 at Wailua Golf Course), where Edie Ignacio Neumiller was seeking out the female robotics standout, and Mary Lardizabal (does this mean Kapa‘a Middle School will have a robotics team?) was still recovering from the successful American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
The Univerity of Hawai‘i’s Master Gardener program at the Grove Farm Market announced the arrival of the Warren Haruki tomato seeds (goes along with the Nitta variety of purple eggplant), and Mike of Ka‘apuni Nursery wants to see if he can get some starters going since he’s had success growing beefsteak tomatoes. We’ll see.
Mary Pigao of the AmeriCorps Senior Kaua‘i Retired and Senior Volunteer Program was using the Kaua‘i Food Drive Day (kudos, Wes Perreira of the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i and Kelvin Moniz of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank for their respective efforts at collecting food and funds for those who can really use the help) to preview the National Day of Service event coming up on Sept. 11 at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e.
