LIHU‘E — Participants in the twice-monthly Toddler Tuesday program at Kukui Grove Center were surprised with a free giveaway and announcement of early childhood development books.
“We’re giving away free books at the Kaua‘i ‘Ohana Resource Kiosk located near the keiki korner playground,” said Alanna Bauman, the Early Childhood Education System Coordinator for the Kaua‘i Planning and Action Alliance. “The books will be available as a partnership with the Kukui Grove Center on Aug. 23 and Aug. 30 from 2 until 3:30 p.m. at the KORK.”
The books to read to a young keiki are based on a 3×3 theme, or three things you can do with your child by age 3 to impact brain development. These tips include talking, reading and singing with your child.
Toddler Tuesday takes place on the first and third Tuesday of each month starting at 11 a.m. in partnership with Showtime Characters at the Kukui Grove food court area. The event is filled with fun, laughter and a healthy workout ending with the usual picture-taking with some of the characters of the day.
