HANAPEPE — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation announced on Saturday that the preseason football game on Aug. 19 has been canceled between Maui’s King Kekaulike High School visiting Hanapepe Stadium for a game against Waimea High School.
HANAPEPE — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation announced on Saturday that the preseason football game on Aug. 19 has been canceled between Maui’s King Kekaulike High School visiting Hanapepe Stadium for a game against Waimea High School.
King Kekaulike High School was one of the Maui schools impacted by the wildfires that started on Tuesday.
“Maui schools are scheduled to open on Wednesday,” said Waimea High School Athletic Director Jon Kobayashi. “King Kekaulike doesn’t even have a place to practice.”
The KIF said online pre-purchased tickets will be refunded.
