Kudos and mahalo, Darin Tan and the Keoki’s Paradise ‘ohana on hosting the Hawai‘i Lodging and Tourism, Kaua‘i and Visitor Industry Charity Walk funds distribution breakfast on Wednesday where the morning meal, while waiting on those caught in the morning traffic, provided an excellent window for networking between visitor industry and government leaders, and many community leaders who represent the nonprofit service providers.

Kudos and mahalo 2023 Charity Walk Chair Ike Cockett for being able to find an extra $5,000 to present to the Kapa‘a Pop Warner Association to help the Eagles recoup from the earlier fire to its storage and equipment shed that was inside the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Park.
Hopefully, that will help the Eagles take the field when Pop Warner officially opens its 2023-24 season on Aug. 1. Kelvin Moniz, of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, and a Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation football official, said the first football games are right around the corner on Aug. 12 when Kapa‘a High School hosts Aiea at BJB stadium.
In the meantime, the Heiva I Kaua‘i takes place Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kapa‘a Beach Park. This year, iSiva Fireknife Crew hosts its annual fireknife competition on Saturday night with gates opening at 6 p.m.
