Roy Stewart Honjo
Roy Stewart Honjo, of Honolulu, passed away on June 15, 2023 in Honolulu, at the age of 67. He was born on June 28, 1955 in Lihu‘e. He was a property manager and front of the house manager at the Maunalani Resort.
He was preceded in death by parents Walter and Magdalina Honjo.
He is survived by sons Ross Honjo of Honolulu and Jason Honjo of Honolulu, daughters Kimberlee (Joel) Mercado of San Francisco and Lora (Cody) Daniel of Honolulu, grandchildren Brayden and Joey Honjo and Conner Daniel, brothers Randall Honjo of Kalaheo and Roger (Melanie) Honjo of Las Vegas, sisters Renette (Gary) Gaspar of Honolulu, Allison (Drew Erickson) Honjo-Pettersson of Honolulu and Beverly (Don) Keogh of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service is Saturday, July 29, at the Kalaheo Missionary Church. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. and service to follow at 10 a.m. The family request casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Neil Manguchei
Neil Manguchei, 74, of Kapa‘a, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023. He was born to John and Margaret Manguchei on July 6, 1949 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He worked most of his life as a bartender, but most recently worked as a truck driver and courier before retiring.
He is survived by children Cheris (Nardo) Manguchei-Nacnac, Neilson (Kele) Manguchei and Nathan (Tina) Manguchei, grandchildren Tianne Manguchei, Ashlie Manguchei, Mason Nacnac, Chael Manguchei and Nathaneil Manguchei, great-granddaughter Lily Garma, step-granddaughter Lenele Rodrigues, hanai granddaughter Alena Keohokapu, sister Joanne (James) Manguchei, brothers, Kenneth (Ilima) Manguchei and David Manguchei, and companion Lara Sadora.
Please join the Manguchei family for a celebration of life on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at Lydgate Park, beachside below the soccer fields. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., followed by heavy pupu and soft drinks.

Patrick ‘Pat’ Jerome Pavao
Patrick “Pat” Jerome Pavao, 81, passed away on June 15, 2023, on O‘ahu. He was born on Dec. 26, 1941, on Kaua‘i. He was in the U.S. Army and retired from Kaua‘i Coffee Co. He was a longtime baseball and senior softball player. He also coached youth soccer.
He was preceded in death by parents Rose and Philip Pavao, brother Philip Pavao and sister Frances Pavao Fu.
He is survived by wife Karen Pavao, son Layton (Chelsey) Pavao, grandsons Bradley and Thomas, sisters Dolores Soto and Patricia Kamakea, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Friday, July 28, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m.

Milagrosa Farinas Ramos
Milagrosa Farinas Ramos, 72, passed away on July 6, 2023. She was born in Narvacan, Philippines on Dec. 9, 1950, and worked as a chambermaid at various hotels.
She was preceded in passing by parents Angel and Barbara Farinas and brother Felimon Farinas.
She is survived by husband German Ramos, children Von Ramos, Randy (Joanne) Ramos, German (Kris) Ramos Jr. and Rosebee (Jeff) Refuerzo, grandchildren Keisha Bisarra-Ramos, Hailey Ramos, CJ Refuerzo, Germalyn Refuerzo, CK Refuerzo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life is at Immaculate Conception Church on Friday, July 28. Visitation starts at 9 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m., and burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Flora Cox
Flora Cox was born on Kaua‘i on May 10, 1922, and passed away on July 19, 2023, at the age of 101. She was retired from the state Department of Education, where she was the secretary to the Kaua‘i District superintendent.
She was preceded in death by husband Howard Cox, parents Masaichi and Hanayo Sasaki, sisters Nora Tada, Mary Takiguchi, Helen Pruitt and Lily Morita and brother Henry Sasaki.
She is survived by sons Tom (Tina) Cox, John (Maggie) Cox, Buzzy (Pam) Cox, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Millie Sasaki, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden (monetary gifts).
