KEKAHA — A shark sighting at Kekaha Beach Park on Monday afternoon prompted a no swimming advisory until further notice from the County of Kaua‘i Ocean Safety Bureau (OSB).
KEKAHA — A shark sighting at Kekaha Beach Park on Monday afternoon prompted a no swimming advisory until further notice from the County of Kaua‘i Ocean Safety Bureau (OSB).
A possible 8-foot tiger shark was spotted in the water off the beach. No injuries were reported.
“As a safety precaution, Ocean Safety (Bureau) officials have posted warning signs and will continue to monitor the area,” the OSB said in a statement on Monday. “Lifeguards will reassess the area on Tuesday.”
