Congratulations, Milani Pimental, Doug Haigh and the Kaua‘i Habitat for Humanity ‘ohana on being super busy with projects that put more people into homes! The projects include the groundbreaking of Kauhale O Waipouli, and the key passings that mark the end of the ‘Ele‘ele Iluna project, and the welcoming of the first of the homeowners in the Waimea Huakai project!

Through all this, kudos Valerie Cooper and the Fair Trade Committee, Kaua‘i Coffee on distributing the much-needed funding that started with a stop at Milani’s office on Monday morning. Kudos to Tina Albao of the Boys &Girls Club, and Melody Lopez and the Catholic Charities on getting their awards, this week … three more awards, next week … look for the specially designed Kaua‘i Coffee bags to support this fabulous program that puts $$$ where it’s needed.
More kudos to muralist Seth Womble, who is on the home stretch for two big projects … a mural developing at the Friendship House (Terry Ann Moses needs help restoring the gardens that was overcome by the pandemic!), and at the passenger terminal at Nawiliwili Harbor … ask Michelle Rego (she’s been busy with that fancy crowd-pleasing green truck) about her vision (if we had money and resources to burn).
OK, time to go check out Nataliearth (the Kaua‘i Community College photographer is supposed to stop by, too) at the Wailua Bay Creators Fair (go early if you want malasadas!) at the Hilton Garden Inn, Wailua Bay.
