LIHU‘E — A number of lane and shoulder closures are scheduled this week on the County of Kauai, with the bulk of the roadwork being done in Lihu‘e and Wailua.
The following is a partial list of the activity through Friday, June 16.
Kilauea
• Right lane closures on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) are possible in either direction for grass cutting, in the vicinity of Kuawa Road and the Princeville Golf Club beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lawai
• Shoulder closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for surveying work between mile marker 10 to 11, in the vicinity of Akemama Road and Lauoho Road, beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lihu‘e
• A right lane closure on Waapa Road and Kapule Highway (Route 51) is scheduled in the northbound direction for grass cutting and shoulder clearing, between mile marker 0 and 3.4, in the vicinity of Nawiliwili Road and Kuhio Highway, beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16.
• A right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) is scheduled in the westbound direction for grass cutting, between mile marker 0 to 1.5, in the vicinity of Waapa Road and Kanani Street, beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for tree trimming in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Hoi Road, beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for routine bridge inspections, between mile marker 4.7 and 4.8 at Huleia Stream Bridge on Friday, June 16, from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wailua
• A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway (Route 56) are scheduled in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapaa Bypass, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.
• A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for guardrail and drainage installation and striping between mile marker 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kuamoo Road and Kapaa Bypass, Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Nightly two-lane closures of Kuhio Highway (Route 56) are possible in either direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kuamoo Road and Kapaa Bypass on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for lane smoothness grinding, striping layout and drainage work as a part of the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements. Traffic will alternate in both directions through one open lane.
Wainiha
• A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is scheduled in the southbound direction for tree trimming, between mile marker 6 and 9, in the vicinity of Lumahai Beach Park and Haena Beach Park, beginning Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
