Marley Bukoski, Shane Corregedore, and Mryvie Buster of the Garden Island Federal Credit Union host recipients of its 12th Annual Scholarship Program — Leolani Fernandez, a graduate of Waimea High School, and Victoria Perreira, a graduate of Kaua‘i High School — to accept their $1,500 scholarships and premium packages at The Plantation House by Gaylord’s at Kilohana. Fernandez is heading to the Colorado Mountain College to study business. Perreira is heading to the Chaminade University to pursue a path in Forensic Science.

A sneak peek of a jellyfish created from assorted floats and various fibers gives viewers a preview of the Kaua‘i Society of Artists’ Washed Up - A Marine Debris Art Show that opens noon, Saturday, at the KSA gallery at Kukui Grove Center. The free (donations greatly appreciated) exhibit is open daily from noon through June 23, 2023.

And, the winner is … how about one of the charter chefs of the Kaua‘i Poke Festival … Chef Rafael Camarillo (Kenny Ishii moved to Florida, which is why Aunty Ono is now a mexican food place) … tickets are still available for this afternoon … Bruce Sakimae said Taylor Sakimae of the Kaua‘i Poke Company is going to try.
