Richard Vidinha
Richard Vidinha passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 96.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1926, on Kaua‘i. He was a retired police captain for the County of Kaua‘i, rancher, Hawaiian saddlemaker (passed on to him from his grandfather) and a U.S. Army veteran who served in WWII. He loved playing baseball until he was in his eighties.
He was preceded in death by parents Manuel and Adelaide (Andrade) Vidinha, wife Concepcion Vidinha, son Richard “Dickie” Vidinha and grandson Byron Vidinha.
He is survived by daughters Ida (John) Elliott, Colleen (Mike) Faye and Elisa (Rowland) Souza, sons Kurt Vidinha and Irvin (Ronnie) Vidinha, daughter-in-law Joyce Vidinha, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. A private burial will be held.
Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Trinidad A. Raval
Trinidad A. Raval, 83, passed away on May 18, 2023. He was born on June 4, 1939, in Laoag, Philippines, and worked for the University of Hawai‘i as an agricultural research technician.
He was preceded in passing by parents Bruno and Isabel Raval and brothers Tony and Johnny Raval.
He is survived by wife Wilma Raval and children Jo Ann and Trini Raval.
A celebration of life is Tuesday, May 30, at the Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Mass at 10 a.m. and burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
