LIHU‘E — A swarm of little feet hopped to the music on Tuesday morning, as Hop and Peter Rabbit welcomed keiki and their parents to Toddler Tuesday that happened to take place during the week leading up to Easter at Kukui Grove Center.
“This is Hop!” said Brenda Turville Biehler of Showtime Characters, who takes care of the bunnies. “But he’s called ‘EB’ for ‘Easter Bunny.’ Hop will be back Saturday to welcome families to the Family Movie Night at Kukui Grove starting at 6 p.m.”
Hop and Peter Rabbit led the large group of keiki through several numbers of hopping and jumping, getting help from the music that teased the little feet into action at the Toddler Tuesday program that meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the center.
The bunnies finished their Tuesday visit by leading the scores of keiki egg hunters to the Keiki Korner play area, where Kukui Grove staff had “hidden” dozens of prize-laden plastic eggs. The lives of these colorful orbs was cut short when the rope entry to the mini egg hunt unleashed a flood of eager young egg hunters seeking to give the prize eggs a home.
Hop, or Peter Rabbit, or perhaps the two of them, will be at The Shops at Kukui‘ula on Friday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a meet and greet, where keiki have an opportunity to play, dance, high five and have selfies with the “very important bunny.” The bunny will be joined by Peek a Boutique, which will be offering a face painting booth at the Palm Court area.
Egg hunters will have a final shot at finding Easter eggs, prizes and fun on Saturday morning when Hope Collective invites egg hunters to gather at 9 a.m. at the Vidinha Stadium soccer fields for the helicopter egg drop that is part of the Hope Collective Easter weekend activities.
