Gas prices
Lately, the cost of both WTI and Brent continues to drop substantially on the international market.
This may be reflected “someday” in our state prices for gas. However, it remains unknown why Kaua‘i is always about 50 cents higher than the other islands regardless of price of crude.
And even Kona being further from the source on O‘ahu than we are, is at least 25 cents lower than Kaua‘i.
Why is this?
Can anything be done about it? Who regulates this?
No one, apparently, as we continue to sit here decade after decade with this pricing anomaly.

Typical the islands that buy the most get the best price. Costco buys the most and that is why they are cheaper than anyone else on the island. The other islands buy more than we do.
As long as nobody is willing to pay the true cost of gasoline we will continue to destroy life on Earth. Probably ten dollars a gallon would be a valid minimum price to start with.
