Tomiko Kabazawa
Tomiko Kabazawa passed away on Feb. 5, 2023, in Waimea, at the age of 94.
She was born on Sept. 19, 1928, in Lawa‘i. She was a housewife and a member of the Waimea Shingon Mission.
She was preceded in death by husband Kinjiro Kabazawa, son Wayne Kabazawa, parents Suke Ishii and Kane Yoshino Ishii, brothers Kaoru Ishii, Akira (Linda) Ishii, Yuzo Ishii and Charles (Alma) Ishii, sisters Hatsuyo (Matsuo “Charles”) Maeda, Haruko (Taketora “Richard”) Otsubo, Kikue “Kay” Nagato, Yaeko Ishii, Lillian Makizuru and Helen (Nobuo) Ota.
She is survived by son Royden Kabazawa of Kalaheo, daughters Myra Kabazawa of Kalaheo and Amy (Darren) Kiyotsuka of Kalaheo, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother Takeshi (Reiko) Ishii of Carlsbad, California, brothers-in-law Muneo Nagato of Kalaheo and Roy Makizuru of Koloa, sister-in-law Sadie Doi of Hanapepe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service was held on March 3, at the Waimea Shingon Mission, officiated by the Rev. Kohtoku Hiraoka. Burial was at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
