Kaua‘i roadwork announced for this week

PRINCEVILLE — The state Department of Transportation announced a possible roving, single-lane closure for shallow depth road borings on Kuhio Highway in the westbound direction, between mile markers 0 to 4, in the vicinity of Princeville Shopping Center and Hanalei’s Waikoko Beach, now through Friday, March 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kealia

• Nightly single-lane closures for paving of Kuhio Highway are possible in either direction between mile markers 9.8 and 15, in the vicinity of Mailihuna Road and ‘Aliomanu Road, now through Friday, March 10, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Kapa‘a

• Portions of Kawaihau Road in Kapa‘a will be closed now through Thursday, March 16, weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This one-lane closure, from Kahuna Road to Haua‘ala Road, is necessary for road resurfacing work.

Wailua

• A single, right-lane closure for guardrail installation and surveying on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction, between mile marker 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road, Monday through Friday, March 6 to 10, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.;

• Nightly two-lane closures of Kuhio Highway are possible in either direction between mile markers 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kapa‘a bypass road and Kuamo‘o Road, now through Friday, March 10, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements. Traffic will alternate in both directions through one open lane;

• A single, right-lane closure for paving on Kuamo‘o Road is possible in the westbound direction between mile marker 0 to 0.6, in the vicinity of Wailua Road, now through the morning of Friday, March 10, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
