LIHU‘E — As of Monday, Feb. 27, your TGI will be delivered by the United States Postal Service from Monday through Saturday with your regular mail.
Beginning on March 4, you will once again receive a Saturday print edition moving forward, delivered to your home while Sunday will transition to digital only. Your new Saturday print edition will include much of the same content that you have been accustomed to previously on Sunday. A print replica of the Sunday edition will be posted online at our website: www.thegardenisland.com.
A reminder, your home delivery subscription package also includes unfettered access to the digital suite of Garden Island products, including the print replica, website, and premium content on the mobile app. If you have yet to create log-on credentials for access to the digital suite, please visit www.thegardenisland.com/activate to establish easy-to-use, single sign-on credentials.
Single copies for purchase will continue to be readily available at your favorite retailer or coin operated vending machine in your neighborhood.
The decision to move to mail delivery was made after much consideration, and the scarcity of independent delivery contractors in the marketplace ultimately led to us choosing this path.
Our goal is and will always be timely and consistent delivery. Therefore, we are pleased to have partnered with the United States Postal Service (USPS). The USPS is committed to providing you with reliable same day delivery of your newspaper. We also thank our independent home delivery contractors for their many years of service to our readers and advertisers as we bid them farewell.
As we turn the page on this chapter of our more than 120 years of reporting on events and issues that impact the residents of Kaua‘i, we stand committed to producing the accurate and trustworthy journalism our readers have come to expect.
The newsroom has bulked up in recent months, as we’ve added reporters to our staff. We are beginning to realize the results of those moves with more local news and information in the newspaper on a daily basis.
While we understand the change in delivery methods might be a bit unsettling, rest assured we are here to help. Along those lines, if readers receive their mail at a post office box, please call our customer service line at 808-245-0433 so we may update your address. And, as always, please feel free to drop by The Garden Island, 3-3137 Kuhio Highway, Lihu‘e, should further assistance be required. Our lobby is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

We appreciate your work ..,, and really depend on you for Kaua’i news,,, you folks are great … thank you
Digital subscription is fine as long as the digital paper portion operates properly. I constantly have replied to articles but fail to get the comment submitted. After 3 or 4 tries I just give up frustrated. Can someone look into the functionality of the comments?
