Kudos, Dave Sosner, Melissa McFerrin-Warrack and the Kukui Grove Center’s many hands, on hosting the Chinese New Year festivities, where the Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union (Ursline Munar is on vacation, so miss out) brought their crew in from Kekaha (Melissa said this was island-wide since the Aloha Pacific crew is from Kekaha), and the Majestic group (they had southern lions) from O‘ahu came in from Hanalei).
Bev Pang was so busy passing out the Pau Hana Market stuff, she missed out on the Aloha Pacific rice paddles (Terry Phillips said they’re called “shakushi”). Ron Wiley got to interview the Aloha Pacific President Vince Otsuka (he was impressed that board member Garrett Agena delayed his attendance to Ichi Chiba’s funeral service to support the Kekaha crew), who flew in from O‘ahu, and who was standing in that giveaway line without knowing what was being given away.
It’s all right. It’s the end of January (Shannon Hiramoto didn’t know where the time went to for Mu‘umu‘u Month). Wednesday is already Feb. 1 (only 13 days left before Valentine’s Day).
