PUHI — The Kaua‘i Humane Society has a variety of holiday themed activities and ways to give back this holiday season.
Supporters are welcome to stop into the lobby of the shelter outside Puhi to check out the Giving Tree. Supporters who donate $20 or more are encouraged to select an ornament from the tree with a photo of a shelter pet to take home with them.
Online donations can be made at https://bit.ly/kauaihumanedonation
The shelter is closed Christmas Day and will close at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve, but the Home for the Holidays program encourages all interested and able to foster a shelter pet over the Christmas holiday.
The society will supply all necessary food and related materials. The program helps clear some space in the shelter, gives the pet a break from the stress of the shelter environment and helps promote them to friends and family who may be able to help get the pet adopted.

The society has a variety of holiday E-cards to choose from at https://bit.ly/khsEcards. For as little as $25, supporters can donate in a loved one’s honor, and send them an E-card to let them know a gift was made in their name to the animals at the shelter, according to a press release.
Sorry I waited so long to subscribe to our local newspaper. I missed out on a lot of goings on!
