Congratulations, and mahalo, Chip Bahouth and the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort, on all the holiday benevolence and aloha — more than 1,100 pounds of food for the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, and about 200 toys for the Toys For Tots program that was picked up by The Salvation Army Hanapepe Corps’ Lt. Jose Gonzalez and Lauren Starner!

Fine art jeweler Elice Meyer (she was vending when all those Sheraton Kaua‘i goodies were picked up) of Facets of Ritual said she’ll be participating in the Children’s Miracle Network Christmas Craft &Product Fair coming up Dec. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. hosted by Marriott’s Kaua‘i Beach Club (is that California sand sculptor coming this year?), and Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort Lihu‘e — definitely worth checking out!
Kudos, too, to Elias Gonzales and Penny Young of the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School after-school program, for contributing enough handmade Christmas ornaments to Jarrett Harris and the Garden Isle Rehab &Nursing for the residents of the Wilcox Medical Center long term and, yes, TGI reader who wanted to remain anonymous, kudos to Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School finance class and teacher Tyler Gage on being named “People’s Choice” (the award comes with a $5,000 grant!) in the American Savings Bank KeikiKo Contest!
And, today is the last day to vote on your favorite department-created Christmas tree in the Wilcox Medical Center’s Christmas tree lineup set up in the hospital’s lobby. You still have to face mask, but if you visit while the cafeteria is operating, it’s a good place for a reset.
