LIHU‘E — The Hanapepe Colts Varsity cheer team arrived home after earning third place at the national Pop Warner Super Bowl on Dec. 5 in Orlando, Florida.
According to Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League cheer coordinator Joseanna Jerves, Hanapepe finished third in the nation, and hit zero during the national competition at the Orange County Convention Center and hosted by Universal Studios, Orlando.
The Kekaha Titans Junior Varsity, and the Kapa‘a Eagles Junior Varsity squads also participated in the national competition, but did not place in the Top 5 of their division.
“Both teams endured an extensive day performing during the day that included a lineup of 136 performances,” Jerves said. “The Eagles’ accomplishment was hitting zero.”
Following the competition, all teams were able to enjoy the exclusive Pop Warner Party at Universal Studios, and spend some days at Disney World before coming home.
