HONOLULU — Data released on Wednesday by the state Department of Health showed 56 new COVID-19 cases on Kaua‘i from Nov. 15 to Nov. 21, and 1,169 new cases statewide.
Kaua‘i’s seven-day COVID-19 case average remained the same as the week prior, with eight new cases a day.
The test positivity rate on Kaua‘i was 8.7 percent, compared with 5.5 percent statewide.
No COVID-19 deaths were reported on island last week.
“This holiday season, we encourage everyone to please gather safely,” said Managing Director Michael Dahilig in the weekly County of Kaua‘i briefing. “If you’re sick, stay home. If you’re high risk, wear a mask or avoid large gatherings. Also, it’s not too late to get vaccinated and boosted.”
