KAPA‘A — ‘Ohana Christian Fellowship announced its Day of Thanksgiving will take place on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kapa‘a Beach Park.
“This annual event is always filled with God’s Aloha, and a free hot meal will be provided to all who attend,” organizers said. “In addition to the meal distribution, hope-filled worship music, dance and testimonies, free clothing and linen giveaways, including food bank items, and care bags will be available.”
This year, the event will receive extra help from a Hawai‘i-based humanitarian organization called Surfing the Nations with headquarters located in Wahiawa, O‘ahu. Surfing the Nations volunteers will be on Kaua‘i to help prepare for the Sunday event and help serve more than 300 meals to Kaua‘i people on Sunday.
The first Day of Thanksgiving was started 21 years ago to help serve the community and provide an event filled with activities and tasty food for the community and less fortunate families on the island of Kaua‘i.
‘Ohana Christian Fellowship has been providing local and international ministries services to the public since 1989. Located at 4531 Pouli St. in Kapa‘a, the church holds weekly worship services at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
