Following are this week’s synopses of shows on KBFD TV, which televises Korean dramas with English subtitles:
Weekly Update
The 42nd Hawai‘i International Film Festival presented by Halekulani will be showing two documentaries produced by KBFD TV: “Syngman Rhee’s Thirty Years in Hawai‘i and The Story of Dreams: Picture Brides.” HIFF starts on Nov. 3. For more information, isit www.HIFF.org.
“Dearest Lady”
Episodes 101, 102, 103 and 104 (Sun.)
Today, 6:40 p.m.: Woo-hyuk attends Ah-jung’s daughter’s kindergarten event. Ah-jung appreciates his attendance as he takes on the role of Sae-rom’s father. Heung-gia’s suffering continues in prison. But she is not one to give up so easily… She schemes again pleading her case with Chairman Baek’s assistant. Ah-reum is shocked that Heung-gia is released from prison. Heung-gia is nonchalant. Woo-hyuk and Ah-jung’s relationship becomes more solid.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Jean-paul tells Heung-gia he wants to find his family. He makes an appearance on television trying to find his family. Bo-bae sees the broadcast and is reminded of her long-lost brother. Bo-bae tells Woo-hyuk that he should find his match. Sae-rom tells Bo-bae that she wishes he’d live with her mom. Woo-hyuk is dumbfounded and Ah-jung’s expression is mixed. Pang-dal runs into Heung-gia of all people. She pesters him to give up the evidence. Pang-dal doesn’t trust Heung-gia. Jean-paul follows Young-kwang to Bobae’s house for dinner.
“Goodbye to Goodbye”

Monday, 6:45 p.m.: Jung Hyo’s father Su Cheol is set on having Jung Hyo abort the baby and bangs at Young Hee’s door to get to her. Min Soo and Sang Jin also sides with Su Cheol. Young Hee and Jung Hyo runs away to Jeju Island. Se Young loses Yoo Yeon.
Tuesday, 6:50 p.m.: Young Hee asks Su Cheol and Min Soo to let Jung Hyo be for the time being. Jung Hyo makes Young Hee confront her reality. Jung Hyo breaks down in front of her dad.
“Secret House”

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Min-young meets up with Tae-hyung to beg him to get tested. Min-young has a recording of Sook-jin and Tae-hyung’s conversation about her mother. She presses Tae-hyung to take her to see her mom. Sook-jin threatens Joo-hong’s father with Joo-hong’s wellbeing as price. Tae-hyung drags Min-young to a remote place. Min-young is given an ultimatum by Tae-hyung. Ji-hwan gets a text message from Min-young saying she’s on her way to see their mother. Ji-hwan traces Min-young’s call and goes to her last location.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Tae-hee wonders if she’s the real daughter of Soo-jin. Sook-jin questions whereabouts of Tae-hyung on the night of Min-young’s demise. Tae-hyung tells Soo-jin to take the fall for his actions. Ji-hwan is engulfed in sadness over Min-young’s passing. Ji-hwan and Joo-hong tries to hide Min-young’s death a secret.
“Uncontrollably Fondness”

Friday, 7:50 p.m.: A love story between two lovers who separated as childhood friends only to meet again a decade later as the top star and a producer. The top star abuses his power and gets down on his childhood friend producer.
Saturday, 7:50 p.m.: The story of Junyeong and No Eul begins in high school. Junyeong breaks up with Nari and she gets sick from the heart break. No Eul seeks out Junyeong to confront him. No Eul witnesses a horrid accident when she goes to meet up with her father.
