HANAPEPE — A late-game interception by the Hanapepe Colts’ Henderson coughed up a 2-yard touchdown, Sunday to prevent a 0-0 tie against Kekaha in a 14 Under division contest played at the Hanapepe Stadium hosted by the Hanapepe Colts association. With no time remaining on the game clock, no point-after-touchdown was attempted and Hanapepe took a 6-0 edge over Kekaha.
In a second 14 Under division contest, Kapa‘a’s Kaitin Mundon passed for touchdowns of 25 and 10 yards, and ran for a 10-yard score to lead the Kapa‘a Eagles to a 42-0 shutout over Lihu‘e. Sonny Thomas added scoring runs of 55 yards, 39 yards, and 40 yards to complete the arithmetic.
Makoa Mizumoto-Perez pulled in a 40-yard scoring pass from Adrian Henkel, ran a 25-yard score, and kicked a point-after to lead the 10 Under Hanapepe Colts to a 34-0 win over the Kapa‘a Eagles. Keola Naka‘ahiki added a 5-yard touchdown, and plucked a Kapa‘a pass for a 47-yard runback for score, and Jed Ka‘ikapu opened the fireworks with a 33-yard touchdown run.
Coming up, Sunday, the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League moves the games to the Bryan J.Baptiste Sports Complex stadium for the first time this year, hosted by the Kapa‘a Eagles association. The first kickoff starts at 7:30 a.m. for a pair of Cub Division contests.
