Kumu Heifara Aiamie of Kapa‘a gets help from Aliikoa Niau and Heihia Itchener while Heirura Itchener performs a Tahitian dance to the music, Thursday during the Aloha Market at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens South Shore Visitor Center. The group brings a taste of the culture of Tahiti to the weekly market ahead of the lunchtime hula by Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala.

Happy birthday, Dorothy Higuchi who celebrated her 103rd birthday with about two dozen family and friends, Wednesday evening (they got almost all the “First Seating” at Kiibo restaurant (they were open, Kahu Jade Waialeale Battad…just so busy they forgot to turn on the sign, and the First Seating (how did Sean Doi manage to squeeze his family to a table?) was all gone.
