HILO — Last week, U.S. Rep. Kaiali‘i Kahele announced the U.S. House of Representatives passed $8.8 million in community-project funding requested through his office.
Included is $1.2 million for the Wailua/Kapa‘a wastewater collection system inspection, a project that will help ensure the integrity of the collection and conveyance system and identify repair needs at the facility prior to expansion, which would allow additional housing to be made available.
“It has been a priority of my staff and I to bring federal resources back home,” Kahele said.
“We have been intimately involved in reviewing and promoting the projects that will make the greatest impact across our state,” he said.
