HANALEI — There will be a single-lane closure on Kuhio Highway in either direction between mile markers 0.5 and 2.4, Hanalei Plantation Road and Aku Road, Monday through Friday, March 14 to 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass- and tree-trimming, according to the state Department of Transportation.
All road work, whether county or state, is weather-permitting.
Kilauea
• A single-lane closure on Kuhio Highway in both directions between mile markers 19 and 21.6, Kapuna Road and Wailapa Road, takes place from tonight through Friday morning, March 18, from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for road-reconstruction and resurfacing;
Kapa‘a
• Portions of Mailihuna Road will be closed from Monday through Friday, March 14 to 18, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to the county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC.
Additionally, the makai driveway to Kapa‘a High School’s office will be closed until March 21.

Wailua
• A right-shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and the Kapa‘a bypass road continue Monday through Friday, March 14 to 18, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for road and shoulder work;
Hanama‘ulu
• Sections of ‘Akuli Street and Hanama‘ulu Road will be under short lane closures from Monday through Friday, March 14 to 18, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, according to the county’s Department of Public Works and Goodfellow Bros. LLC.
The lane closures are necessary for construction improvements to pedestrian access to the school, including new sidewalks, crosswalks and ADA ramps. Safe-walking routes for students, parents and pedestrians are provided.

• Ala Kalanikaumaka, from Ala Kukui‘ula to the Po‘ipu roundabout, will be closed Monday and Tuesday, March 14 and 15, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to the DPW and its contractor Maui Kupuno Builders, for road-resurfacing.
Motorists heading southbound from the Koloa roundabout will be detoured to Lopaka Paipa Boulevard and Po‘ipu Road. Residents and visitors accessing Kukui‘ula from Po‘ipu will be detoured around the closure to Lopaka Paipa Boulevard and Ala Kukui‘ula. Motorists wishing to travel northbound from the Po‘ipu roundabout to Koloa Road should take Po‘ipu Road or use alternate routes.
