Play ball!
Here we go, again…Tiffany Dick (she was at the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation baseball game) of Aloha Dance Studio said the studio’s latest generation of hip-hop dancers make their appearance on Saturday at 1 p.m. during the Kukui Grove Center’s Spring Break Family Fun Day. Check out the free Grab ‘n Go Ocean Learning kits being distributed outside Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery (yep, still waiting for them to re-open from the COVID) from 11 a.m. They’re also passing out those Marine Debris kits at the Princeville Public Library from 9 a.m.
Kudos, Xan “Alani” Silva (she’s the coach at Kapa‘a High School softball) on being inducted to the Santa Ana College Hall of Fame (wow! Mary Ann Manintin is her sister who traveled to California to help celebrate).
Kelley Hines of Hokuala was talking about the achievement during the John Burns Intercollegiate golf tournament, and Michael Koerte (great to have you back as the KIF scorekeeper!) said Alani’s relative, Joe Grace, is where you can get those cheeseburgers that Ichiro Suzuki loved, and Kaua‘i High School softball coach is also related to Alani…with those credentials, it’s no wonder we had such a great softball contest Wednesday night.
More excitement is on tap as Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort general manager Chip Bahouth is anticipating the return of the Best Bartender Challenge later this year…what? Nikki Cristobal said we have the Brewers Festival before that.
No, we gotta get past Spring Break!
