PUHI — The search for a Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center extended-furlough inmate ended in the closet of a Puhi home Wednesday morning.
Ricardo Navor Jr., who failed to return to his community residence on Feb. 13, was arrested in Puhi after more than a week in hiding.
Personnel with the Kaua‘i Police Department arrived at the Puhi residence at about 11:30 a.m., following up on a tip about Navor’s whereabouts.
Officers from the Patrol Services Bureau and the Vice Narcotics Section inspected the residence and located Navor in a closet, according to the department.
Once he was found, KPD reported that Navor was compliant with the police. He was booked and taken straight back to the KCCC.
All those involved were cooperative with police, KPD said, and nobody involved, other than Navor, is facing charges.
Navor has been incarcerated for promoting a dangerous drug in the second degree since 2016.
Navor’s sentence was set to expire in August 2025, though an escape charge is now expected to be added. His next parole hearing is scheduled for this month.

Citizens and neighbors should be outraged that the kpd did not change those aiding and abetting a fugitive!!!
I am personally sick and disappointed but not surprised by the blatant disregard of common law and enforcement…. abet glad the perp is back in jail.
Will our (new) prosecutor turn the tables on the disconnect that victimize our innocent because the kpd has a beef with the STATE overlords????
Stay tuned for the next report of a decades old saga ‘AS THE STOMACH CHURNS’….
